Since 2020 Thorben is a PhD Student in the Machine Learning Group at the TU Berlin and at the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD). Thorben received his M.Sc. in theoretical physics from the University of Cologne, with focus on quantum information theory, many-body systems and machine learning. He is currently working on the intersection of machine learning and quantum chemistry, combining geometric deep learning with message passing neural networks, to shape a new genration of so-called machine learning force fields.
