Since 2025, Frederik has been a PhD student in the Machine Learning Group at Technische Universität Berlin and a full-time researcher at the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD), advised by Shinichi Nakajima. He received his M.Sc. in Information Systems from TU Berlin in 2025, with a focus on Machine Learning, and obtained valuable industry experience working at IBM and SAP. At IBM, he worked on adaptive multi-model reinforcement learning for database tuning, and at SAP, he worked on observability topics in the realm of cloud engineering.
His main interests lie in Bayesian learning and in using uncertainty measures to improve current Bayesian optimization approaches for real-world applications.
