Pengzhou Wu is a postdoctoral researcher at BIFOLD and TU Berlin since July 2023. He got his PhD in Statistics under Prof. Kenji Fukumizu at the Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tokyo. He has worked at the intersection of causality and machine learning, on both cause discovery and causal inference. His current focus in ML is generative deep models and their identifiability, in particular nonlinear independent component analysis (ICA). He is also very interested in causality in physical sciences and cognitive science and, more generally, in science-inspired ML and ML for sciences.
